Center– –known in the community as BMS–– for its new 3,562 square foot satellite primary care center. The new medical center, known as BMS @ Genesis, is located at 360 Snediker Avenue in the East New York section of
Brooklyn . According to Maurice A. Reid, BMS’ President and Chief Executive Officer, “The construction of this center created critically needed additional medical services capacity through eleven new examination rooms as well as reception and waiting areas and administrative offices.” At full operations, the medical center will provide approximately 13,600 visits annually for adult medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology services. “This new center will provide greatly needed primary care services to one of the most medically underserved communities of
New York City ,” says
Ronda Kotelchuck , PCDC’s Executive Director.
The satellite is located in a 54-unit residential building developed by HELP/USA, a non-profit organization providing housing and supportive services to formerly homeless families. PCDC is thrilled to offer this loan as a way to help the BMS continue to fulfill its mission of providing comprehensive health care for residents of Brownsville, Ocean Hill and
East New York . BMS currently serves approximately 19,000 individuals in its various programs, primarily at its 27,000 square foot main site in
Brownsville .
