PCDC EXPANDS ITS FINANCING PROGRAMS TO UPSTATE NEW YORK WITH A GRANT TO THE HUDSON HEADWATERS HEALTH NETWORK

May 12, 2005—The Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC) has just closed a financing for the Hudson Headwaters Health Network (HHHN), which provides primary health care to the residents of the Eastern Adirondack area of New York . HHHN will use the loan to expand the Warrensburg Health Center at  3761 Main Street in Warrensburg, New York . This health center is the only medical provider for the town as well as for the smaller communities in Warren County . The expansion will house dental and physical therapy services and provide lease space for House Calls Pharmacy, HHHN’s partner pharmacy.

In addition to creating access to highly needed services in the eastern Adirondack region, this loan marks the expansion of PCDC’s lending programs to upstate New York and is the first of several loans PCDC expects to make to upstate health centers. This year, the New York State legislature and the governor approved a capital program for New York State primary care centers. The program will provide grants to primary care centers seeking to build new or expanded health centers. “This expansion allows PCDC to further our goal of helping to create excellent healthcare in underserved communities throughout New York State ,” said Ronda Kotelchuck , PCDC’s Executive Director.

Founded in 1974, HHHN is a federally qualified community health center in Warrensburg, New York that provides health care to the residents of the Adirondacks, Lake George, and Glens Falls area of upstate New York . It operates a network of eleven community health centers serving over 50,000 people in a rural, medically underserved region. In addition to comprehensive primary care services, HHHN provides dental care, mental health, social services and a discounted pharmacy service.
