EMERGING INITIATIVES
Working with a variety of clients––such as community health centers, hospital outpatient departments, health plans, public health departments, primary care associations and others––PCDC’s Emerging Initiatives team designs, implements and evaluates health system improvement programs that address a wide range of topics. The topics include emergency preparedness management, health information technology, health literacy, clinical improvements (pediatric asthma, prenatal care, diabetes, depression, palliative care), customer service and provider communications.
We also help clients build local organizational and community capacity to conduct on-going and long-term performance improvement efforts by developing and delivering training curriculum, teaching tools and assessments and by aligning public health priorities with community resources. The Emerging Initiatives Team functions in two ways:
- As a consulting group that can tackle a wide range of challenges with innovative strategies and a flexible approach to technical assistance and program design
- As PCDC’s research and development arm, assessing needs, designing customized solutions, evaluating their impact and rolling them out at client organizations
We design solutions of varying scopes and timeframes, including full-scale multi-site year-long collaborative improvement initiatives, single-site concentrated engagements, customized training programs and technical assistance in developing effective and easy-to-use data and measurement strategies. PCDC’s combination of experience and knowledge of the provider community and program design and implementation allows us to design targeted programs that are effective and sustainable.
